Dr. J. Otis and Isabelle Yoder
Born on September 21, 1914 of homesteaders in Colorado, USA
Experiencing a personal call from the Lord, J. Otis Yoder left his teaching position at Eastern Mennonite college to be the Founder and President of HERALDS OF HOPE, INC. in February of 1967. From that time until September 21, 2001 he continued in that role.
He was faithfully supported and encouraged by his wife, Isabelle, who also used her college English major to serve as Editor of ministry publications.
From the beginning of the ministry the central purpose has been to proclaim the truth of God's Word using the expository method of preaching and teaching. Special emphasis is given to the prophetic Scripture.
Looking Ahead
On September 21, 2000 founder and President J. Otis Yoder passed the mantle of leadership for HERALDS OF HOPE, INC. to J. Mark Horst, his former Administrative Assistant. J. Mark has the distinct privilege of having Bro.Yoder as his mentor for six years. On May 27, 2001 J. Mark was formally ordained to the ministry, and has begun to prepare radio messages for broadcast.
